Middle School Math

Math homework, extra math problems and useful sites are available to students in grades 6, 7 and 8 (Omega Team).

The Titans

This site is designed for both students and parents providing chapter overviews and objectives for each sixth grade subject area. The “Homework” section gives daily assignments and team announcements. Helpful and fun, annotated Math and Science links to sites offering self-check quizzes, practice tests, and extra support tools such as the award winning San Francisco Exploratorium and The Comic Book Periodic Table of the Elements.

Engineering Your Future

The site can motivate student interest in engineering with its useful information on careers in the field and links to interactive engineering sites by Intel, Analog Devices, and others. “What is Engineering” provides a complete listing of various types of engineers and their primary functions with links giving an inside look at the professional life of an engineer... Day in an Electrical Engineer's Life, PBS's Interview with an Electrical Engineer.

 

Career Planning Strategies page outlines middle and high school skills helpful for pursuing a job in this profession. Students can go to multiple, related sites that provide practical planning advice and direction (even for middle school) i.e. Mapping-Your-Future, National Academy of Engineering's Girls Guide to Career Planning.

High School Math

This site provides connections to comprehensive information on course assignments, class expectations (materials, grading, homework), and links to helpful sites such as High School Hub, Cool Math Graph, and Google.

 

It also includes links for the Lexington High Math Department, “Family Links” (Mass. Dept. of Education Parent Involvement Program and Math Curriculum Frameworks), and “Student Links” that include sites for math history, computers and calculators, project ideas.

Mr. Hinnenkamp's Website (Honors/AP Biology, Anatomy/Physiology)

Students will find syllabii, lab report formats, vocabulary, calendar for tests and assignments, and extensive selection of PowerPoint presentations (55 chapters for AP Biology alone) within each course area.

 

“Online Quizzes” link students to various test sites created by science educators and universities for on-line learning. “Offsite Links” is a comprehensive, annotated selection of sites supporting specific topics covered in advanced high school biology courses i.e. photosynthesis, cell respiration, genetics.

MHS Physics Department (Physics)
